Carrelly Garden Accommodation is an easy drive from Melbourne and is set high in the Strzelecki Ranges with breathtaking views over the rolling green hills of South Gippsland. Wilson’s promontory can be seen on the horizon. The site was originally home to the Mount Eccles South Primary School and has an interesting history.
We are centrally located for touring to both Phillip Island and Wilson’s Promontory, and only twenty-five minutes from the beautiful beaches of Inverloch. The Grand Ridge Road is just minutes away and it is a short drive to two of Gippsland’s best rail trails for walking and cycling enthusiasts. Shops, restaurants, and a cinema are just ten minutes away in Leongatha.
The development at Carrelly has been based on ecologically sound concepts including solar energy and wood-fired heating and hot water. Recycled timber, milled on the property, has been used to construct the barn, shed, fencing, and retaining walls.
There are two acres of landscaped gardens and fresh fruit, vegetables, and herbs are grown without chemicals. The garden attracts wildlife and many birds including wedge-tailed eagles and yellow-tailed black cockatoos who are both regular visitors to the garden. Mosaic artworks are strategically located to catch the eye and add an element of whimsy.
We invite you to come and share our little piece of paradise.
